Fiddle, 5 String Banjo, Mandolin, Guitar
Chris spent most of his childhood in his native Essex and first became interested in live music during the mid sixties when, as a young man, his father invited him to play rhythm guitar for a jazz dance band. He learnt how to busk in a variety of keys and had to learn new melodies fast.

A few years later, he became interested in traditional music and, along with some friends, formed a Folk Rock Band called Touchwood. They were later to join forces with another popular folk group called Thunderpants.

About this time Chris also played some fiddle for the Blackmore Morris Side, replacing the multi talented Nic Jones who had moved on to pursue a professional career in folk music.

Later, whilst studying in Bristol for a teaching degree, he performed in bands playing jazz, blues and folk music.

Chris now lives in Cheshire and can regularly be seen playing at the Harrington Arms in Gawsworth.
