Sean hails from Edinburgh, but has lived in South Manchester since the late '80s. Although most of his experience prior to Albireo was in rock bands and electric setups, he always had a keen interest in folk, having been dragged round numerous Scottish festivals and clubs by his parents in his youth. The switch to acoustic music has proved welcome and exciting, although whether he will ever recreate the giddy heights of third place in the 1984 Scottish final of the TSB Rock School competition is debatable.

Sean played for several years with Holly Burton, remaining as guitarist through a number of lineup changes.

By day, Sean works as a Lecturer at the University of Manchester.
